Goal Achieving

If You Are Not Growing, You Are Dying!

We are welcoming a new wonderful month and I’m wondering, are you happy with your achievements, or are you stuck, getting the same old results?

What’s preventing you from expressing your greatness?

Why are you still spinning your wheels?

Is it fear of being rejected, or fear of feeling not good enough? What is your major fear?

It is not necessary that you identify where your fear is coming from, but it is important that you decide to face and overcome the demons that keep you in a state of frustration and stagnation because what keeps you repeating the same old pattern is the fear of knowing more about your reality — and having to act on what you discover.

Once you become aware of the truth of the matter — you have a few choices to make: keep doing what you have been doing (hiding, hibernating), or do what you’ve never done before to have what you’ve never had before (changing). I know from my experience how scary and painful change can be, but remember those times when you have avoided change out of fear. Once you dared to move from thought to action how much easier the latter ended up being!

Accepting the need to make changes usually means that you’ll be required to take action to change an outcome. Are you satisfied with the outcomes in your life? If not, are you ready to take action and create a new outcome?

I can help YOU move forward and create the type of results you long for. Call me to book your free “Move Forward Now” Session or request it here!

Overwhelmed With a Long Term Project?

Just for today…

Last Thursday, I accepted a 90-day fitness challenge. Want to take a peek? Click here! My goal is to lose 15 lbs, reduce body fat and increase muscle mass. I’m sure you also set a fitness or wellness goal to pursue this year. Please, share it on my facebook page.

Well, it’s been certainly challenging! I’m replacing two meals a day with shakes, but even though I’m not hungry, I miss “real food” as I call it. I was so ready to quit just two days ago when I thought about the time I have left on the challenge. Thanks goodness, my son could persuade me to stick to my plan and here I’m now celebrating my first success…4.5lbs lost in less than a week. Yay, big pad on the back for me!

I’m thrilled and glad I persevered and I’m looking forward to the rest of the program, but now I want to share with you my BIG secret for making it until this day and hopefully to the 90th day with the same outlook!

Are you ready for the Big secret? Here it goes…

As I was meditating on the five Reiki principles, the first part really resounded in my head…Just for Today…and I thought, why if instead of looking at how far I need to go, I just focus on what I can accomplish this day. What if instead of thinking about how many more days I’ll have to restrain myself from eating whatever I crave, I just think I only need to take care of this day? Since I took this approach, I no longer have been as desperate to eat food that it’s not allowed in my meal plan. Then, it came to my mind all the plans I have postpone because I have been focusing to further ahead, instead of realizing that I can only control what I can do today.

Next time you feel overwhelmed with a long term project, I suggest that you give this approach a try. You’d be surprised the burden that you will be taken off your mind and shoulders.

If you haven’t been introduced to the Reiki principles before, I want to share them now with you.

It seems so simple yet so powerful. If you are into meditation, I also invite you to ponder about them and even choosing one to work on for a day and please, share your experience and insights with me. I’d love to hear about it.

I you are new to Reiki, come to our next Reiki Clinic and get a complimentary 20-minute Reiki treatment by a group of wonderful Reiki practitioners. Contact me at 801-941-2947.

A Goal Without A Plan Is Just A Wish

Are you disappointed with the results (or lack of,) you’ve had this past year?

Stop there, and just turn your mistakes into learning lessons, and take time this month to get ready and open to welcome new opportunities in the coming year.

Blame is the high price you pay when you let your life slip through your fingers without making the decision to do what it takes to follow your passion. You’ve probably found yourself lately, wondering what if… What if I had done this? What if I could go back in time and take this simple action step? How much could I change?

Stop blaming yourself for what you haven’t done and decide to take action TODAY. Set priorities in your life. Get clear about your life vision and set goals that bring you closer to accomplishing them. Choose every day activities that support both, your passion and your priorities.

Be disciplined and you will find yourself in a privileged place, striving to get to the top,and to achieve success on your own terms.

Do not wait for the right time to act on your dreams. Today is the perfect day to start writing that book that’s been calling you for a while. Today is the perfect day to start that project you’ve envisioned for the longest time. Today is the perfect day to take the first step to lose weight. Stop making excuses!

A Goal Without a Plan is Just a WishI don’t have time!

I’m too tired!

I’m too old!

I’m not smart enough! Sound familiar?

How many days and weeks you go wasting time on tasks that have no value to you or your loved ones. How often do you review your day and find that you’ve invested your time on unimportant things! What is the price you are paying?

Take charge of your life and make every minute of it worth living but do it NOW!

Here are two simple tips to help you achieve your goals:

  •  Get Crystal Clear about the What and Why – As important as it is to know what your passion is and what you want to accomplish, it is also important to be clear about the reasons behind your goal. An easy way to get to this clarity is setting your life priorities straight and then aligning your day-to-day actions so they support those priorities.

  • Plan ahead - Take a few minutes every night to organize your agenda and choose 3 – 5 activities that will take you closer to accomplishing your projects. Highlight the activities that must be done regardless.

Remember, “A goal without a plan is just a wish.” Stop the cycle of frustration you go through, year after year. Study what worked and what needs to improve. If you want to get results, you must take action, take the risk of getting out of your comfort zone to achieve the results you haven’t achieved before.

“No plan. No objective. No goal. The road to anywhere is the road to nowhere, and the road to nowhere leads to dreams sacrificed, opportunities squandered, and a life unfulfilled.”

                  Thomas S. Monson

Are You Being True To Yourself?

I’ve been asking myself this question every single day for the last weeks. It is so easy to get caught up pleasing others, and as a consequence, losing sight of your own vision, values and goals.

As I’ve focused on staying true to myself, I noticed that in the past, I allowed the fear of rejection to influence my decisions regarding my career. I felt that I needed to please everyone in order to attract more people to my practice and to succeed.

Little by little, I found myself drifting away  from my true, soul purpose and original vision of my life. Luckily, I’ve been able to correct my course and reconnect to what brings meaning to my life.

And this is the main reason I am writing this message now. As the end of the year approaches, I’ve been reflecting on my ideal life vision for the New Year and as I looked back to my work, I could see how I’ve been pulled to different directions which has made me lose sight of my destination.

I feel I owe you both, my apologies and gratitude. Apologies, for having taken you to a destination different than the one I probably promised to take you to, when we first started working together, and immense gratitude for staying with me while I sailed into unknown waters. Despite of the distractions I dealt with, this has been a year of amazing breakthroughs and achievement,s and I want to acknowledge the fact that I could have not done as much without your support. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Well, that being said, as I get clearer about my vision and goals, I’d like to introduce myself to you again, so you have also a clear understanding of my offerings and what you can expect from my work and message.

I know that you are busy and your time is limited. So, Ill try to be as brief as possible on my efforts to let you know more in depth about who Lilian is, what does she stand for, and how she can help you in your journey.

Also, if my message no longer resonates with you, please feel free to unsuscribe from this newsletter. No hard feelings!

Say GOOD-BYE to Limitations and Start MANIFESTING Your DREAM LIFE in 2013!

We are only 31 days away from welcoming another Year, and I imagine that just like myself, you might be already thinking about your new year’s resolution. Before we keep going, I want to encourage you to look back for a minute and see how far you’ve come this year.

If possible, grab your 2012 resolutions list and acknowledge every single one of your achievements. Sometimes we get so caught up on what we still need to achieve that we forget to celebrate our progress. Close your eyes and take a big deep breath and smile! You’ve come far, and more importantly you are once again motivated to keep moving forward.

Next, focus on those goals you’ve missed and the reason you’ve struggled to achieve them. What are the thoughts that come to your mind?

In order, to change the outcome you must change your approach and your perception of the blocks that hold you from achieving your goals. Just like Albert Einstein said,

“You cannot solve a problem from the same consciousness that created it. You must learn to see the world anew.”

Are you aware of the beliefs that are holding you back? If not, I have good news, I have developed a signature process that allows you to tap into your subconscious to identify the limiting beliefs that keep you stuck, to replace them with new, empowering beliefs. In other words, I will empower you  to make those changes you’d been struggle with for years, for once and for all. You won’t be perpetuating the same long list of new years resolutions year after year, to always get to this point were inevitably take you back to regret, disappointment and frustration.

“I began to realize how limited my thinking had been, especially about my financial situation.  I have been doing the exact same routine with money all my life and guess what?  I have been getting the same results over and over again. I felt a burning inside that I had not felt in years…

My life has changed by leaps and bounds. I am seeing manifestation of abundance everywhere I go and everything I touch.”

I know you really desire to make radical changes in your life and good news is all is possible, the bad news is that, radical changes require radical approaches; to take risks, to get out of your comfort zone and do what you’ve never done before to get what you’ve never had before. So, the question now is, are you truly ready to take charge of your life? Are you willing to embrace a new you? Are you open to more good than you’ve ever dreamed of?

If you answered yes to these questions, I want to invite you to schedule a Free Discovery Session now so you can SAY GOOD-BYE to the limitations you’ve experienced until this day, and START MANIFESTING your DREAM LIFE in 2013!

Are You Spinning Your Wheels? 7 Ways to Tell You’re Staying Stagnant

So here you are, again. You’re faced with a problem or issue and you’ve been at it for a while now… You always think you’re solving it, always working hard, but never getting anywhere. Does this sound familiar? If so, you may be spinning your wheels.

Here are some other signs that you need to stop to reevaluate some things before you continue:

  1. You keep switching plans or switching goals

You have a new goal each week that you’re working towards… and with each new goal comes a new plan of action.
  2. You are feeling pretty lost

You lack direction either because you have not determined the direction you want to take or you’re choosing not to take it.
  3. Excessive internet searching

Google is your best friend. Or perhaps a social media site. Either way, you keep looking for answers from the World Wide Web instead of getting more introspective and meditative about your situation.
  4. You’ve stopped talking to people about your project

You’ve told so many people so many different goals/plans that you’ve had over this time that you’ve finally stopped talking about it so that you don’t let anyone down.
  5. You justify everything

Well, this time you’re taking this road because of this reason…. and then you stopped to take another road for this other reason… and then you decided that the first road you were on was probably best, as it turns out, so your get back on there… but then you decide to do it a bit differently because it just makes sense, right??
  6. You’re being guided by one of the “7 Deadly Sins!”

Perhaps you’re being guided by  wrathgreedslothpridelustenvy, or gluttony?
  7. Relentless action

When was the last time you stopped to smell the roses? Has it been a while since you’ve taken some time away from work during your “working hours”?

Albert Einstein has been quoted saying “the significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them.” Take a look at your situation. Perhaps you’re spinning your wheels because you’re using the same tool that dug you into your problem (same thinking) that you are using to dig yourself out?

What are some other ways you’ve found that you might be spinning?

Embracing Success Before Achieving Success

“Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” ― Winston Churchill

Recognizing your achievements.

Many times road blocks can feel like a huge set-back. It’s as if you’ve travelled down a long hard road only to find that it is impassable… and now you’ll need to back-track. But before you hang your head in a sense of shame and failure, consider your route. Consider the road you took to get to where you are now. Notice what you’ve learned and experienced along your journey. And take credit for your triumphs.

Even if you are not at a road block, it is still important to recognize your achievements so far. Recognizing your achievements will help give you the confidence and courage that is necessary to move forward and reach your goals.

ACTION: At the top of a piece of paper, write today’s date. At the bottom of the paper, write the date you began your quest for the goal you are reaching for right now. Now list all of the new skills you’ve acquired, helpful books you’ve read, workshops/conferences/seminars you’ve attended, etc. that have contributed to achieving the goal you’re after.

Embracing Success

Now consider each of those skills (etc.) to be a “success”. Thoughtfully examine each skill you’ve written and embrace what you’ve succeeded in accomplishing as a result of acquiring that new skill. For example, if you learned Web Development you can embrace your success as not needed being totally dependent on someone else to develop your website for you. You have succeeded!

Achieving Success

Now that you have an entire page of  things that you have already been successful in achieving, you can look forward to your current goal and know, with confidence, that you will succeed, succeed, succeed again until your ultimate goal has been accomplished! Mmmmmm. Now doesn’t that feel pretty good?

Be a Leader by Determining Your Value-Driven Direction

Where do you want to go?

(From Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland)…
Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
The Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to
Alice: I don’t much care where.
The Cat: Then it doesn’t much matter which way you go.
Alice: …so long as I get somewhere.
The Cat: Oh, you’re sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.

So often small business owners get caught up in the work. The day-to-day of their business. Michael Gerber, author of The E-Mythwrote that business owners often take the roles of  the Technician, the Manager, and the Entrepreneur. The Technician is the one who does the work. If you own a hair salon, the Technician is the one cutting hair. The Manager is the one who tends to the business: marketing, bookkeeping, etc. The Entrepreneur is the one looking for the next opportunity for success.

REFLECT: Take a look at your business. Which roles do you occupy most of the time? Technician, Manager, or Entrepreneur?

Similare to this approach, Stephen Covey, author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, wrote about the difference between Leadership and Management. In the analogy of using a ladder, a Manager figures out the most efficient way to climb the ladder while a Leader makes sure the ladder is leaning against the right wall.

REFLECT: Take a look at your business. Do you spend more time trying to do things right? Or do the right things? (adapted from Peter Drucker and Warren Bennis)

Gaining control of your direction using your values as your guide.

If you have been acting in more of the technician/manager side and less in the entrepreneur/leader side, here’s  an exercise to help you regain control of your direction.

  1. On a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle. On the LEFT side, right the word “Direction” on the top of the page; on the RIGHT side, right the word “Action” on the top of the page.
  2. Under “Direction” list all of the values that your business operates within. Examples are things like “excellent customer service”, “quick turn-around”, “quality services”, “strong relationships”, “innovative products”, etc.
  3. Now draw a line from each value in the Direction side over to the Action side. For each value, list the what you need to be doing to make sure your values are met and, therefore, are moving in the direction you have chosen.

From here, you should have a very clear idea if the way you are spending you time is worthwhile or not. If you are “walking just so you get somewhere” or if you have control and leadership over your business.

A change in direction is more than ok.

Over time your values may change and that’s ok! In fact, that’s the main role of the Leader is to determine the values, the direction, to ensure it is right for the company. Then the Manager figures out how to most efficiently work within the Leader’s pre-determined direction. Finally, the Technician executes the plan.

Do this exercise regularly to make sure your work reflects your values.

How about you? Which role have you been operating in most?

How to Identify What Success Really Means to You

What does success really look like?

In the timeless classic book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by the recently late Dr. Stephen Covey, Dr. Covey leads the reader through a powerful exercise that helps us to identify what success really means to each of us.

Measuring success by looking at the end of life.

During this exercise, the reader is instructed to imagine their funeral. To visualize being at their own funeral surrounded by family and friends. Then to listen one by one as loved ones take the podium to talk about your life. What would you want your loved ones to say about you? How would you want to be remembered?

Your actual life-time goals and achievements.

If you do this exercise in earnest, you may find that what you are putting all your energy into now, may not actually be what you want to accomplish with your life. Your goals may be more character-based; your achievements may refine your purpose. This may not necessarily mean to drop all that you’re working on right now. And it certainly does not mean to neglect your personal and financial responsibilities. But, instead, it could give you insight on a new approach to your current projects. A new way of thinking and going about achieving your goals.

Taking action right now.

I encourage you to contemplate on your funeral. Write exactly what you would want people to say. Dr. Covey has you set your funeral visualization for three years from now. Once you have completed the exercise, write the steps you can take today to be one step closer to achieving lifetime goals, making each day a success.

Using Your Personal Bucket List as a Powerful Start-up Business Technique!

Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” ~ Steve Jobs

What’s on your bucket-list?

Stumped trying to find your passion-driven business? Here’s a thought…

When brainstorming a new business venture, it can be easy to become side-tracked with the money. How will I make money? Where will it come from? How can I make more money? If I set it up like this, how much money will I have made in 6 months from now? And on and on…

But what if we put our interests first and put the money last? What if we put our quest for fulfillment before our quest for money? What if we made it our goal to cross something off our bucket-list instead of making money? Here’s what that could look like…

  1. What is something you’ve always wanted to do or achieve? (Something to cross off your “Bucket-List!”)

This could be in the form of achieving a certain certification or license. Skydiving Instructor? Pilot License? Reiki Certification? Master Gardener Certification?

  1. Would the process of achieving this be fun for you?

This should be something that beyond interests you. Something that you can’t stop talking about at the dinner table, something you can’t wait to learn more!

  1. How far out of your reach is this?

If you really wanted to, could you start almost immediately? Think of the financial requirements. Consider all (legal and responsible) options for funding your dream. Think of your time requirements. Would you be able to do this while keeping your current obligations (including personal time and relationships) fulfilled?

  1. Could it make you money? (NOTE: Don’t think how could this make you money, rather could this make you money.)

Is your bucket list business be a good idea?

It is important to remember what great things can come from the unplanned – like opportunity. When was the last time you planned for a great opportunity? If you know that there is a way, but you’re not sure exactly what that is quite yet, that’s more than ok – that’s perfect!

While it certainly is important to profit from your endeavors, this exercise can be helpful in not making money your sole focus. Stop putting off your goals for ‘someday’. Brainstorming your bucket-list is fun! And brainstorming your bucket-list-business? Even better!

Don’t have a bucket list? Here’s a great way to get started!
